How can I get a book or article that the Harrisburg University Library doesn't have?
Answer
If the Harrisburg University Library doesn't have an item you need, you may be able to get access through other means:
- Interlibrary Loan - Interlibrary Loan (ILL) allows you to request copies of articles, book chapters, and other relatively short, scannable items. This service does not provide copies of print books or eBooks.
- PALCI On-Site Borrowing: The Harrisburg University Library is a member of PALCI (PAL-see), a consortium of academic libraries that allows students and staff to have access to the other libraries in the group. You can use their materials while on site, and in some cases you may borrow their materials. Some of these libraries are in short driving distance of downtown Harrisburg. You must be present to use and borrow the items; the libraries will not mail materials. You should call the libraries for hours and specific policies relating to PALCI member libraries before visiting.
